In The Throes....
58
I Know, I'm suppose to be reading...couldn't help it!!!
In The Throes....
Passion has stirred from somewhere deep
Once I finally gazed upon your eyes
To the surface comes a need I knew not was there
Twas a dimmed burning in some far away sleep
I know not this yearning, yet I am drawn to explore
All inhibitions easily cast aside
In the throes one needs no pillows
The only need is to be touched inside
In my youth, hastiness seemed all I was given
With age, I am discovering all the wealth of that which has been hidden
Like a wine bottled, the liquid once left, spills over
But like the taste, once a tease, please, please I want more
By the light of day, long before the moon appears
In the throes let all disappear, whether day or night
No more fears my dear, everything will be alright
Let my arms my dear be the pillows through the shadows of our days and nights
In the throes...

Very good, Nadine! Up and beautiful!
Very pretty and not crass. Physical love can and should be sensitive and lovely. You wrote it well.
Deeply felt. Good work, beautiful.
Nadine, lovely. True to your style, leaves plenty to the imagination. CHilly in Nova Scotia? Duvet ready? Beautiful and linked.
Nadine, nothing calm about uncorking that bottle of wine. Day or night resting on the softness of your arm(s) as pillows. Very warm on the way to the boiling point.
Beautiful and so true: "With age, I am discovering all the wealth of that which has been hidden." Voted up and touching.
So heartful and beautiful. up and beautiful
Beautiful in everyway..exploring, needing, and wanting, all wonderful things to fill our heart..You have written a sweet reminder of all three..Great job!
Love,
Sunnie
Very beautiful, Maggie-May. What more can I say?
Lovely poetry Maggie. I can't keep from wondering why we have to acquire age to appreciate the finer things in life, love included. Whoever said that feelings stopped at the waist after 50 must have been paralyzed. I relate with your feelings about our Hubber friends. It's wonderful to know that people love you as a friend, just as we are, no pretense. We all get off track, but we're always welcomed back with open arms.. " That's what friends are for " I love that song and i love you as a dear friend...
.....well I've got only two words for something this hottt!!!! on a lonely epi-saturday night - YUM YUM - and everytime I see your name here at the Hub I am in the throes of love and would just love to throw myself right into ....... well, never mind lol lol - better not finish that last word - but it's three letters and it starts with Y - and ends with U ....... by the way please check out CURE FOR A CANCER SURVIVOR and see epi's softer side - although my side is always soft for you dear Maggie - because you are just so amazing here in your writing and I always love that in any woman - and you sure are one beautiful talented lady too - so glad to have you in my life dear one - still glowing over my poetic tribute too - my heart knows of a wonderful place to be - your hubs .....

and yes that's what (IN THE THROES) Tim Hortons coffee will do for ya ..... lol lol lol
I knew you couldn't resit the urge to write, a break from your reading was well worth it. Look what you have created here, a beautiful flow of throes and things. The challenge and tease from Epi to you to give it a go, paid off in spades with this sensual romantic scribe.
Your taste is first class and a taste of your wine has us wanting more. Very well done Maggie, it ranks up there beside Epi and his latest. That one also stirred this saddle and really showed his compassion and love for his woman or a woman that would be in his life. Thank you for taking a break from your reads to treat us to your nectar....Hugs to you my Maggie May..
Oh, I love to see the soft and romantic sides of my friends... this is tender, tasteful and tantalizing.
Brava, gentle MM... voted UP & AB, mar.
Not only tastefully done but beautifully done as well.
Maggie-May...look forward to it...one day you will be happy just to have the love of your life in the same room, content just with his presence. It's even better than the throes. But carry on.
Loved that Last line Maggie-May...It brings this Poem Home! Heck, it's all so VERY GOOD!
Very nice - I like "With age, I am discovering all the wealth of that which has been hidden" and I find this to be so true, a new appreciation for what has been there all along! Enjoy! There is so much more in store ;-)

Sensual but not vulgar at all. Beautifully created to take the reader on a journey of ecstatic exploration.
