Our Well Of Wishes(A Play)
66
The date is today: April/09/2011..... A.A. Zavala has published the second part to our play. It is sensational!!! A must see! His hub, I guarantee, is a more tantalizing and an explicitly exciting read. A.A. Zavala has a knack to pull the reader in and keep your attention, always on the edge of your seat with the need to read further.
CLICK on the above link for PART TWO written by A.A ZAVALA.....
Also, both A.A. Zavala and I have agreed that it woud be wonderful if anyone would like to join in on this fun and creative adventure.... It's merely meant for fun!!!!
A.A. Zavala, another Hubber and friend asked me not long ago to co-write something with him. I had suggested a title, A Well Of Wishes.
First of all, I must explain, I have never done anything like this before and therefore please excuse my shaky attempts to create a play... I have written the Intro, Act One, Scenes One & Two. A.A. Zavala will be writing next... I will provide a link to his Act One Scene Three as soon as he publishes....
Our Well Of Wishes.........
ACT ONE
SCENE ONE
It is day time. The sun is shining brightly casting shadow effects on the well. The well is just inside the foyer of a castle. The castle is nestled deep into the thick forest at the foothills of the worn and weathered mountains on Majestique Island. Somewhere off the coasts of Costa Rica...
THE WELL IS LIKE NO OTHER. Thick sand rocks, smoothly chiselled to resemble diamonds are layered upon each other revealing its fantastic diamond shapes. The well reaches a height of three feet from its rounded base At the top of its walls an even more beautifully etched and smooth, thick marble stone sits atop and extends out in a circular seat beckoning a wisher to sit and feel its powerful pull.
THE CASTLE WAS BUILT AND DESIGNED AROUND THE WELL TO KEEP ITS MAGIC ESSENCE FROM ANY OTHERS BESIDES ECHO AND NARCISSUS...THE WELL CAN NEVER BE DESTROYED.... To destroy it would mean the end of seeing each other and all communication and existence would end forever.
Echo is a name that is derived from the Greek Mythology of a nymph that pined away for an unrequited love for Narcissus.
Echo in this play is represented by a thirty year old woman with long, straight dark hair and approximately five and a half feet tall. Her voice is melodic and she can sing. She is nothing like the nymph in Greek Mythology however she does pine in a similar fashion for Narcissus.
Narcissus is as vain and self-centered as the one in Greek Mythology, but in this play he will eventually hear and see a more beautiful creature than he.
Narcissus enters from the thick forest wearing silver armour and carrying a sword. The sword is full of rubies and diamonds on its handle...
Narcissus quickly runs inside the castle foyer and climbs to sit upon the well of wishes..
Peering in he looks..
Narcissus continues to look into the well, and touching his face he sees only his reflection... Caught up in the moment of being into himself, Narcissus does not hear footsteps coming....
Act One
Scene Two
Echo, enters the foyer coming from inside the castle, but this scene is from the other end of the well...it is like a mirror image of the first only this end of the well (is actually during medieval times).
Echo steps up to the well and before sitting she sees not only her own reflection but that of another.
Narcissus is there on the opposite side and as always he cannot see past his own reflection.
ECHO
[Echo speaks clearly. She is annoyed.]
Why must it be this way? What cruelty!
[Echo begins to complain, almost whining.]
I am to suffer. It is now clear that I must endure this torturous vision of my love and all his handsomeness which he continues to firmly keep to himself. Oh what am I to do? I long to embrace him and have his attention directed at me. Oh what must I do?
[Echo throws herself at the well, and on her knees she pleads heart-wrenchingly into the well]
Narcissus? Oh please, Narcissus just look once beyond your image. I beg you. I implore you. I beseech you!
[She begins to weep over the well]....... OUT

....great idea between two marvelous writers ...... and it captures the true spirit and essence of Hubpages - congratulations to both of you in attempting this ....
....and Miss May, that brings up the topic of 'our' collaboration, can we make a 'movie' together - yes, that's it - a nature film - lol lol - must have been something 'you' slipped into my double double this morning - lol lol
Your off to a great start! I'll be watching, 50
Shaky attempt? You must be speaking about me. I may need Epi's help one this. Very good intro, gives me something to start with. This is going to require alot of creativity, I may need to get a sandwhich. Can't create art on an empty stomach.
..and yes I can't think about Miss May of Maggie ... on an empty stomach .......
..and on a serious note I am so very proud of you both for doing this wonderful collaboration - and I just love A.A. trilogy of album covers (they've been posted on my Facebook page) and yes there's a 'confession' for you MM on one of A.A.'s comment sections ......
What a wonderful creative idea, which has now been brought to life...Rated up!

ii think you can do it! hell just keep each writing in you own styles just kinda keep it on the same path. should come out interesting lol
I admire your courage and desire to accomplish such a huge task. I like it so far. : ) Good job. I never was one who felt I could write a play, so I admire those who can. Now on to A.A. Zavala's part in it.
Hi, this is a wonderful story, and even though I just read part 4 (in the wrong order...) I am re-reading them correctly as Nikki asked me to do so. Thank you for a riveting and original play so far. :)
haha thanx astra. maggie and augustine started this so its only right you should read their wonderful parts. has augustine wrote the next one yet?
haha go for it maggie!
Ah 'Twas ever the lot of woman to pine for a vain man to notice her. Narcissus. take heed, of you will, perchance, find yourself looking like a common daffodil, and that bugger William Wordsworth will come along and write some trite verse about clouds and all that stuff.
Good start, Maggie, I just started at the other end and am now working through.
Well, the new Narcissus hub is written and published, finally. Phew. I have posted the link on my Hub Profile, for anyone who wants to read the newest part to this story.
